  The AIIE is owned by the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) a semi government organization with public and private sector participation. It is located within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ). Covering 275-hectares on a site 700 m east of the Aqaba International Airport, the AIIE is strategically positioned near Jordan's borders with Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Phased development, first phase 56.9 hectares fully financed by a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) grant.
